What is Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity?

Under the direction of the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, the Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) was established for the responsibility of administering and enforcing federal laws and policies, which provide fair housing and equal access, for all people living within the United States of America.

The Office of Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity - Mission Statement

To create equal housing opportunities for all persons living in American by administering laws that prohibits discrimination in housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, and familial status.

MEDIATION, CONFLICT AND DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Utah Valley University provides a free mediation service through the Ombuds located in the Office of Judicial Affairs and Dispute Resolution.

What is Mediation?
This is a tool that can be utilized to help resolve disputes that may arise between a Tenant and a Landlord.
