Application Instructions

All faculty, staff, and executive openings are posted on the UVU job site at www.uvu.jobs . Applications are only accepted online. To apply for a position, search available postings and create an application.

Search Postings:

  1. From www.uvu.jobs , click on the link on the left titled Search Postings.
  2. Enter your search criteria and then click the Search button.
    • You can search by:
      •  Type of Position: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, etc.
      • Job Category: Non-Faculty Staff, Faculty, or Executive Job Title Department
  3. To sort the list of positions, click the arrow next to the column title.
  4. To view the position details, click the View link below the job title.
  5. When you find a posting you are interested in, click Apply to this Posting.   

Create an Application:

  1. From www.uvu.jobs , click on the link on the left, titled Create Application OR search postings and click Apply to this Posting.
  2. Select an application type based on the type of position you are likely to apply to and then click Go.
  3. Select a username and password and click Continue to page 1 of…
  4. Enter a secret question and answer and click Continue to the Next Page at the top of the page.
  5. Fill out the remaining pages and upload any required documents.
  6. When you are done applying you will have a confirmation number.   

Application Hints:

  • An official UVU online application is required for all positions. Be certain to complete each item fully; do not state "See resume."
  • Applications are accepted only when openings actually occur.
  • Applicants must submit a new application along with any required supporting documents for each vacancy based on the specific requirements of that position.
  • Staff applicants should be certain to complete the Education, Experience and Knowledge, Skills and Abilities sections of the application.
    • The initial screening of the application determines whether applicants meet minimum education and experience requirements for the position. Resumes are not considered during initial screening. Success during the committee screening process depends upon how well the applicant describes his/her possession of the Knowledge's, Skills, and Abilities required by the position.
  • To receive credit during the screening process, post-high school education and training must be verified by transcript (official or unofficial), certificate, or other official statement or document.
  • All application materials become the property of Human Resources. Applicants are encouraged to submit photocopies of important documents. 
  • Student Employment

    Student employment is handled by the Career Services & Student Employment (CSSE) office.
