Under supervision of the Director of Compliance and Student Services, the Academic Advisor - Athletic Compliance Coord will assist the director with: education and management of NCAA policies and procedures; determining student-athlete initial and continuing eligibility; monitoring recruiting; camps and clinics; assist with CHAMPS and SAAC; assist in the advisement of student athletes; monitor student-athlete academic progress; maintain records and coordinate tutors and study hall.

Implement appropriate policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all Utah Valley University, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations governing intercollegiate athletics, under the direction of the Director of Compliance & Student Services.

Assist in the certification of initial, transfer, and continuing academic eligibility of student-athletes according to NCAA Division I standards, including compliance with the NCAA Academic Performance Program.

Assist in the education of student-athletes, coaches, and administration and others having relationships with the athletics program about UVU, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations.

Perform the academic advisement of the students in the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics: advise prospective, current, and transfer students in all aspects of their academic programs; establish a relationship of trust and openness.

Keep current with all NCAA and UVU rules, regulations, and requirements pertaining to academic advisement and compliance issues in order to instruct athletes and athletic personnel.

Coordinate program to insure student success and academic progress toward fulfillment of a degree for chosen course of study, through; grade checks, study hall, tutors, and travel authorizations.

Assist athletic director and coaches with student advisement, recruitment, scheduling, and monitoring of classes, orientation, and registration.

Represent the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics at conferences, committees, community and school events, and other functions pertaining to academics.

Support and maintain all UVU and NCAA standards of ethical conduct for athletics personnel. Uphold and abide by all NCAA regulations and Utah Valley University institutional policies and procedures.

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree and two years of experience related to essential duties.

Knowledge of content and curriculum of classes and graduation requirements for NCAA Division and Student Athletes.

Knowledge of student advertisement methods and techniques (monitors student's classes, scheduling , academic progress and registration.

Knowledge of NCAA Division I rules relating to intercollegiate athletic programs, athletic eligibility, recruiting and legislation.

Knowledge and understanding of drug education and student athletic wellness.

Skill in the use of computers and NCAA institution software as applied to management of student records.
