Position: Assistant Coordinator - Strengthening Families Project

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the faculty supervisor, site coordinator will meet with school counselors and administration of assigned local junior high school to screen and select families to participate in program.  Meet once a week with school faculty, staff, and volunteers to coordinate and update activities.  Meets weekly with families for information sessions and activities. 


Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
  • Coordinate, plan, and conduct meetings working with families from diverse backgrounds; as well as meet with school counselors and administration of assigned local junior high school to screen and select families to participate in program.
  • Meet once a week with school faculty, staff, and volunteers to coordinate and update activities. 
  • Meets weekly with families for information sessions and activities. 

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • N/A 

Special Requirements of the Position:
  • Position will primarily be working at a local junior high school.  Requires evening hours.

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor's degree in a Behavioral Science discipline.

  • Ability to coordinate, plan, and conduct meetings.
  • Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to exercise good judgement and initiative to facilitate problem resolution.
  • Skill in the use of computers and computer software; including word processing, spreadsheets, and data bases.
