Position Summary:

This position will provide management of the GEAR UP scholarship program and specialized monitoring and analysis of the GEAR UP student information database system.


Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:
     Manage scholarship program. Communicate with students regarding renewal process and work with Financial Aid offices to process scholarship payments. Manage scholarship database.   60%   

    Assist in analyzing quality of workflow, output, and reporting functions of student database. Identify, report, and track edits to database.  Update forms and assure that correct forms are being used program-wide.  Identify and run needed reports.


    Assist in coordinating and monitoring student files. Assist in developing and conducting audits on data and student files.


     Work closely with Data Coordinator to monitor data entry progress program-wide.  Perform other job related duties as assigned.

    • N/A 

    Special Requirements of the Position:
    •  Ability to drive provided state cars and pass the driver’s test each year. Must have a valid driver’s license.



      Graduation from an accredited institution with an Associate’s degree or a related field OR any combination of education and experience totaling 4 year(s). Current driver’s license

      • Knowledge of database systems and data-tracking methodologies.
      • Knowledge of general financial aid rules and procedures.
      • Database management skills.
      • Skill in office methods, techniques, practices and procedures.
      • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
      • Ability to perform, manage, and supervise a variety of data collection, entry and tracking duties with minimal or no supervision.
      • Ability to work with diversity of personalities and backgrounds.
      • Ability to work with personnel and partners at their assigned schools, colleges, or other locations.  
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
      • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
      • Ability to travel to work with personnel and partners at their assigned schools, colleges, or other locations.
