Position: Associate Director - Athletic External Affairs

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Associate Vice President - Director Athletics, the Associate Director - Athletic External Affairs will: oversee and manage all athletic programs; provide professional leadership to the athletic department; direct and coordinate all student-athletic compliance activities, including NCAA rules and regulations and UVU policies and procedures; set strategic direction, develop and implement related policies and procedures; establish funding, and provide operational planning, budgeting and assessment.

Essential Functions, Major Duties, and/or Accountabilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive development program for UVU Athletics which is consistent with college wide development activities.
Enhance community relation by promoting community involvement and developing financial support.
Direct athletics development and external relationships, including the executive direction and oversight of the Wolverine Club and other fund raising efforts.
Direct annual campaigns to acquire funds as well as planning and directing golf tournaments and other events as appropriate.
Maintain updated and accurate financial records of all fund raising and athletic development operations.
Support and maintain all UVU and NCAA standards of ethical conduct for athletics.
Uphold and abide by all NCAA regulations/rules and UVU policies and procedures.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Special Requirements of the Position:

Qualifications:

Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor degree and 3 years of experience related to the essential duties.

Knowledge and ability to uphold the regulations governing intercollegiate athletics as set forth by the NCAA.
Knowledge of technical writing procedures.
Knowledge of budgeting and fiscal management.
Ability to plan, organize and problem solve.
Ability to recruit, train, supervise and assist in athletic external operations field.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing to a wide variety of groups and individuals.
Ability to direct and supervise assigned sports programs as well as individuals.
Ability to generate and maintain positive working relationships with the public and UVU team members.
