Provides technical and operational support to students, School of Business faculty and staff relating to the planning and installation of PC hardware, software and peripheral devices.

Provides computer hardware and software expertise, in a variety of computer platforms and operating systems, to academic and administrative end users.

Installs, configures, and tests PC hardware, software and peripheral devices and applications, operating systems and network connections.

Maintains and repairs new and used computers and peripheral devices as well as maintaining inventory records of PC hardware.

Diagnoses computer malfunctions, determines the cause, and resolves the problem.

Implements and monitors hardware and software security.
-
Assists in evaluating new and existing products to make recommendations for improved performance and upgrades.

Coordinates hardware repair under warranty; maintains records of software.

Maintains a positive and professional relationship with faculty, staff, and students while provide exceptional customer service.

Remains current in new computer technology and advancements in hardware and software.

Creates and maintains student Lab Assistant work schedules.

Supervise the computer labs and maintain all systems, servers, networks and application software relating to the labs.

Updates and maintains the School of Business web site.

Conducts seminars or workshops on the use of the computer labs and Microsoft Office packages.

Trains faculty/staff on the use of new equipment.

Sets up wireless access for students, faculty and staff.

Supervises and trains support technicians with the repair and maintenance of department hardware.

Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

Lab Assistants, student or/and part-time-nonexempt.

Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
Level I: A minimum of one year of experience directly related to the job responsibilities and an associate's degree or higher in Information Technology or related field is preferred; or any combination of higher education and experience directly related to the job responsibilities totaling three years..
Level II: A minimum of two years of experience directly related to the job responsibilities and an associate's degree or higher in Information Technology or related field is preferred; or any combination of higher education and experience directly related to the job responsibilities totaling four years.
Level III: A minimum of three years of experience directly related to the job responsibilities and an associate's degree or higher in Information Technology or related field; or any combination of higher education and experience directly related to the job responsibilities totaling five years.

Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills.

Good computer knowledge and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suites and Operating Systems.

Skill in technical writing and problem solving.

Ability to supervise others is preferred.
