Creating Conversations to Manage Employee Performance is designed to provide an opportunity for supervisors/managers or any employee to enhance their skills and learning to be better leaders at UVU. This workshop will provide a framework to help supervisors assess and manage employee performance. Participants will explore practical tools to help generate a productive and meaningful dialogue between supervisor and employee.
Dealing with Difficult People
Effective interaction at work is critical for employee success. Dealing with Difficulty People is designed to introduce employees to concepts that will help them improve their working relationships, especially when dealing with difficulty people. This workshop will help employees build skills to evaluate and effectively relate to individuals in the workplace that may be particularly challenging. Participants will identify challenging personality types and strategies for effectively dealing with these difficult people, explore behaviors essential for effective working relationships, learn tips for improving interactions at work, and initiate an action plan for self improvement.

This workshop introduces initial concepts to: 1) help employees identify the sources of stress in their lives; 2) recognize how stress affects their lives; 3) explore ways to avoid harmful stress; and 4) investigate strategies to help reduce stress.
The Practice of Perfecting Pickles
Customers today expect good service. Based on the video entitled “Give ‘em the Pickle! TM”, this workshop will explore concepts that are critical for good customer service. Through the ideas and thoughts presented in this workshop, participants will discover strategies to better meet customer’s needs, evaluate four important concepts that are integral for success in delivering good customer service, and initiate an action plan for self- improvement.
Performance Management for First-Time Supervisors
This workshop is an interactive session designed for new supervisors who want to improve their performance management skills. The training will cover aspects of coaching to improve employee performance, giving and receiving feedback effectively, the mechanics of conducting an employee performance evaluation interview, and tips for effectively encouraging the best in your work teams.

Practices for a Pleasant Playground is designed to introduce employees to concepts that will help them improve their working relationships, especially when placed in difficult situations. Effective interaction at work is critical for employee success. This workshop will help employees evaluate obstacles that may interfere with working relationships, explore concepts to overcome those obstacles, and initiate an action plan for self improvement.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment at Utah Valley University
The Prevention of Sexual Harassment workshop is designed for full- and part-time employees of Utah Valley University to alert them to their responsibilities in the prevention of sexual harassment in the workplace. The session addresses what is sexual harassment, why an employee should be concerned about it, and what an employee can do about preventing sexual harassment in the workplace.
Prevention of Sexual Harassment: The Classroom Setting
Prevention of Sexual Harassment: The Classroom Setting is designed specifically for faculty and adjunct faculty of the university to alert them to their responsibilities in the prevention of sexual harassment, particularly in the classroom. The workshop reviews the definition of sexual harassment, challenges particular to the classroom setting, and the importance of the faculty member's role in dealing with sexual harassment issues.
Tips for Giving and Receiving Feedback
Giving and receiving feedback is a critical communication skill for the workplace. This workshop is designed to help managers/supervisors, or anyone interested in building management skills, understand the value of giving and receiving feedback effectively, particularly formal feedback to help improve performance. This workshop reviews the purposes of feedback and introduces tips and techniques to help employees further develop the skill of giving and receiving feedback.

A key to managing effective relationships with your employees is Delegation. Tips for Successful Delegation is designed to help managers/supervisors, or anyone interested in building management skills, understand the value of delegation in working relationships with employees. This workshop reviews the concept of delegation and introduces a model to help supervisors develop or enhance the skill of delegation.
Turn Conflict to Collaboration
Conflict is a necessary part of teamwork. Turn Conflict to Collaboration is designed to introduce employees to concepts that will help them improve their ability to work in teams where conflict is present and escalating. This workshop will help employees understand the role of conflict and value its presence, explore concepts to manage conflict to lead to collaboration, and initiate an action plan for self improvement.
