International Photo Contest: Reception | 2:00 - 3:00 PM | WB 147 | Free
Reception with light refreshments and International Photo Calendar launch
Be it the Eiffel Tower in the rain, a macaw hiding in the trees of a Costa Rican rainforest, or a group of friends enjoying dinner in Italy, photos of these experiences and many more are being sought by Utah Valley University’s International Study Programs to compete in its Ninth Annual International Photo Contest.
UVU faculty, staff, and students are encouraged to apply. Submissions are due by 5:00 P.M. September 26, 2012. Photos will be judged anonymously and prizes awarded for capturing the interaction of people, culture, and/or scenery.
The top three winners will receive gift certificates worth $150, $100, and $75 to Allen’s Camera in Orem. The winners, plus nine honorable mentions, will have their photos featured in a 2013 International Photo Calendar produced by International Study Programs.
“This is really a great opportunity for the UVU community to share its talents and international experiences through photography,” said Grant Skabelund, director of UVU’s International Study Programs.
The limit is 10 entries per contestant. Photos must have been taken during the 2011-12 academic school year (Fall-Summer). Contestants must submit each entry with their first and last name and a title for the photo, such as JohnSmith_AustralianOutback.jpeg. Make sure your camera is set at its highest resolution. Images must be a minimum of 8 inches at 300 DPI (PPI) or 2,400 pixels for the smallest dimension. All entries must be submitted digitally to uvuintlphotocontest@gmail.
The winning photos for the 2011 contest can be viewed at 2011 Contest. Entering the contest signifies an agreement to the International Study Programs' right to use each photo. If you have any questions about the contest,
