Program details: This program is a 21-day study abroad to two major European commerce centers, London and Paris. These dynamic and diverse environments provide the rich learning context for students’ study and engaged exploration of European business, government, and culture. Course work includes enrollment in a spring 2013 course, site visits and interviews with international commerce professionals, exploration of cultural sites and museums, and post-trip analysis and reflection. Program sites: Meetings with commerce professionals in London include tours and lectures at Liberty’s Store, Harrods, the fashion shops of Bond Street, a guided tour of the world famous Hamley toy store, and Harvey Nichols, followed by a sumptuous afternoon high tea. Cultural events also include tours of Kensington and Windsor castles and a Les Miserables performance.
Parisian commerce sites include Yves St.Laurent, Galleries de Lafayette, and Louis Vuitton’s corporate headquarters and factory. French museums and cultural sites include the Garnier Paris Opera, Musee d’Orsay, and tours of the Louvre and Versailles.
Academic visits may include the American Intercontinental University, the London Business School, and the Sorbonne.
Anticipated curriculum: Six to nine credit hours are offered in the following courses: Current Topics in Marketing—Consumers in American and Global Society (MKTG 259R), Retail Management (MKTG 3220), Advanced Topics in Marketing (MKTG 459R), and Marketing Internship (3-6 credit hours MKTG 481R).
The student outcomes from this experience include improved international business knowledge, cultural literacy, and preparation for professional careers in a global marketplace.
Estimated participation fee: $3,995. Apply by December 14, 2012, for this price.
Participation fee covers: In-country transportation, all site-visit entrance fees, accommodations, breakfasts throughout the trip, London theatre ticket, evening dinners in Paris, international health insurance.
Participation fee does not cover: UVU tuition (approx. $160 per credit hour), airfare, some meals, passport, discretionary spending.

Application deadline: December 14, 2012. Submit application, two letters of reference, $195 non-refundable application fee, and $300 program deposit. If you miss the deadline, you may be welcome to apply until the program is full, but please note that the participation fee will be higher and program space is limited. Tuition waivers: UVU Employee & Employee Dependent Tuition Waivers may be applied for up to six credits of ISP tuition.
Financial aid: Pell grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility.
Applicants must have a current FAFSA form on file at the Financial Aid Office (BA 105) and complete all necessary application forms for financial aid.
