Program details: Experience the beauty, color, and culture of Spain while studying Spanish in Salamanca, one of Europe’s oldest university cities, and in Sevilla, the gem of Spanish Andalusia. This program offers students the opportunity to take classes from Spanish teachers while living with a Spanish family. Students are provided the experience of “living” the language they are learning in a warm, colorful setting. Information Sheet

Tentative dates: Students can choose one of three options:

Option 1: Salamanca: April 28 - May 31, 2013 (4-6 credit hours). Visits to Madrid, el Valle de los Caídos, el Escorial, Ávila, Segovia, Sierra de Francia. Estimated participation fee: $2,995. Apply by February 1, 2013, for this price.

Option 2: Sevilla: May 27 - June 28, 2013 (4-6 hours credit). Visits to Madrid, Granada, Córdoba, Cádiz, Ruinas Itálicas. Estimated participation fee: $2,995. Apply by February 1, 2013, for this price.

Option 3: 1 & 2 combined: April 28 - June 28, 2013; nine weeks in Spain (7-9 hours credit). Estimated participation fee: $5,795. Apply by February 1, 2013, for this price.

Anticipated curriculum: Spanish 1010 (4 credits), Spanish 1020 (4 credits), Spanish 2010 (4 credits), Spanish 202G (4 credits), Spanish 3030 (3 credits), Spanish 3040 (3 credits), Spanish 3050 (3 credits), Spanish 3510 (3 credits), Spanish 4050 (3 credits), Lang 291R (1-3 credits), Lang 481R (1-3 credits).

Participation fee covers: Housing, most meals, side-trip transportation, side-trip entry fees, international health insurance.

Participation fee does not cover: UVU tuition (approx. $160 per credit hour), round-trip airfare, passport, meals in Madrid and on side-trips, discretionary spending.

Application deadline: February 1, 2013. Submit application, letters of reference, $195 non-refundable application fee, and $300 participation fee deposit. If you miss the deadline, you are still welcome to apply until the program is full, but please note that the participation fee will be higher and program space is limited. Tuition Waivers: UVU Employee & Employee Dependent Tuition Waivers may be applied for up to six credits of ISP tuition.

Financial aid: Pell grants and Federal Insured Student Loans may be applied to the program, based on eligibility.
Applicants must have a current FAFSA form on file at the Financial Aid Office (BA 105) and complete all necessary application forms for financial aid.
