The office of International Affairs & Diplomacy actively supports UVU’s global engagement
efforts by:
Advancing UVU's presence and prestige in the international community
Helping UVU students become globally competent graduates
Promoting cultural literacy and diversity both on campus and in the community
Creating opportunities for engaged learning and regional economic development through
cultural exchanges and diplomatic visits
Statement of Activities
Cooperates and coordinates with all UVU departments and offices regarding global engagement
opportunities
Hosts foreign dignitaries, e.g., heads of state, senior diplomats, ministers, ambassadors,
business, educational and religious leaders, to establish and maintain meaningful
relationships with UVU constituent community
Develops and carries out international conferences, workshops, symposia and lectures
featuring global leaders
Assists in procurement of financial support for international students and programs
Interfaces on behalf of the university with the State of Utah diplomatic corps and
the international division of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development (GOED)
Acts as a subcontractor for international programs such as the Library of Congress
Open World program
Directs operations and logistics of the semi-annual meetings for the National Presidential
Advisory Board
Operates activities of the Utah-Russia Institute and Honorary Consulate General for
the Russian Federation
