UVU fosters partnerships and outreach opportunities that enhance the regional, national, and global communities.
Utah Valley University is among 240 U.S. colleges and universities selected to receive the Carnegie Foundation’s 2015 Community Engagement Classification. The classification recognizes collaboration between institutions of higher education and their larger communities (local, regional/state, national, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity. The classification is an evidence-based documentation of institutional practice to be used in a process of self-assessment and quality improvement. It involves data collection and documentation of important aspects of institutional mission, identity and commitments, and requires substantial effort invested by participating institutions. It is an elective classification, based on voluntary participation by institutions.
