Najibullah Niazi

Najib Niazi is UVU's first student from Aghanistan. Najib, who is majoring in International Business came to work at Integrated Studies and the Center for the Study of Ethics in January of 2007. Najib is the office receptionist & intake advisor for Integrated and Interdisciplinary Studies.  He is here to help students and faculty who come in to the office. He schedules appointments for our Academic Advisor, Lynne Hetzel and distributes all promotional material for our programs around the UVU campus.

Before coming to the United States and to UVU, Najib worked in Afghanistan with the United Nations as an administrative assistant in their office in Kabul. He also worked as a translator for nationally known author Scott Carrier when he was in Afghanistan doing a story for Harpers magazine. Najib is a polyglot who speaks his native tongues of Pashtu and Dari as well as Uzbeki, Urdu, and English. He's learning spanish here at UVU for his Bachelor's of Arts degree and is perfecting his mastery of English.

Najib enjoys soccer, tennis, and driving at night with the stereo blaring. He aspires to master the art of cooking as well.
