Choosing a Bachelor of Arts or Science

The two options differ most basically in terms of math and second-language requirements. The BA requires at least 4 semesters of a foreign language. The BS requires either principles of statistics or calculus 1. Students with emphases in business, psychology, biology and the like, may need to know statistics or calculus to do research for a thesis. Students in philosophy, history, English, and similar emphases, may need a second language to do the required research.
