Anyone may contact Judicial Affairs and Dispute Resolution for consultation about
a possible concern. Talking with Judicial Affairs does not obligate a person to file
a concern; investigations do not begin unless and until an official concern is filed.
Concerns may also be submitted by directly emailing Ashley Larsen,alarsen@uvu.edu.
Concerns should be submitted with concise, factual information including: the incident,
the date of incident, the location or class, others involved, how it came to your
attention, what has been done with the concern so far, etc.
The Director of judicial Affairs is responsible for investigating concerns regarding
student conduct, and violations of the Student Rights and Responsibilities Code. Investigations
may also be assisted by the Student Response Team members.
Concerns should be submitted with concise, factual information including: the incident,
the date of incident, the location or class, others involved, how it came to your
attention, what has been done with the concern so far, etc.
Please also submit relevant materials, such as: documents, photographs, copy of student’s
work, etc.
Academic misconduct and general misconduct records are usually maintained as either: permanent disciplinary records of adjudicated violations of the Student Rights and Responsibilities Code; or, informational records for minor behavioral concerns or dismissed investigations and are not made part of an official record.
In order to accomplish the educational goals of the process, to provide timely due
process, and to avoid unnecessary complications to the investigatory process (because
witnesses and/or evidence may no longer be available, memories fade, etc.), you are
strongly urged to submit your concern immediately upon discovery.
If you with to discuss the process informally, please do not hesitate contact the
director of Judicial Affairs.
