Deaf Studies Today!
A Professional Conference at Utah Valley University
The fourth biennial Deaf Studies Today! Conference will be held on the Utah Valley University (UVU) campus in Orem, Utah April 8-10, 2010. The theme for the conference is “Engaging Theory & Action”. The conference is pleased to feature keynote addresses from Dr. Dirksen Bauman, Mr. John Bosco Conoma and Dr. Genie Gertz. The conference will also feature films, plenary sessions, paper presentations and workshops by various professionals & filmmakers.
Deaf Studies Today! is proud to announce our second biennial Deaf Film Festival. In the past, the Deaf Studies Today! Deaf Film Festival was a separate component of Deaf Studies Today! academic conference, taking place two days prior to the conference. This approach has been changed this year and the Deaf Studies Today! Deaf Film Festival will be integrated as a part of the Deaf Studies Today! Conference.
April 8-10, 2010 (Thursday-Saturday)
Thank you to all who were able to participate in Deaf Studies Today! 2010. The Department of Languages appreciates all the time and effort that was put into the various presentations and films. We would also like to thank all of the many volunteers that helped to plan and run the conference!
