An Introductory Algebra and a College Success course are integrated together. You will learn how to apply critical thinking skills, time and financial management, and effective collaboration techniques to college courses with specific examples for this mathematics class. Test taking strategies, group activities, and a service learning project that answers the question why we use math will help students understand how to be successful in their studies.
This learning community will help students join forces to be successful in not just
one, but two general education requirements. The Mat1010 class will consist of 20
students that are also taking the much larger Biology 1010 class. Take this opportunity
to have more individualized help, form study groups, and get to know fellow students.
(NOTE: ENGL 1010 is a prerequisite for BIOL 1010.)
