The Part-Time Professional MBA at Utah Valley University is a dynamic graduate program with a schedule designed for professionals as they work to maintain balance in their personal and career responsibilities.

Resident Application Process

  1. Complete the online application at www.uvu.edu/mba and pay the $45 application fee.
  2. List three individuals, with name and email addresses, who will provide professional recommendations. (Upon payment of the application fee, a link will be sent to your reference within 2 business days which they will use to fill out information on their relationship with you, your experience, work ethic, etc.)
  3. Upload response for two essay questions. Concise and detailed response should be limited to 500 words for each essay response. (Open a Word document and type your name at the top. Type the first question listed below and answer it; type the second question and answer it. Save the file as a PDF document and upload to the application.)
    1. How does completing an MBA relate to your career and life goals?
    2. Your application presents a variety of information about you to the admissions committee. What additional information would you like to share that demonstrates your potential for success in the program?
  4. Attach current resume which highlights educational background and professional work experience.
  5. College Transcripts – After the application fee has been paid, request official transcripts to be sent to etranscriptr@uvu.edu. Transcripts will be evaluated based on cumulative GPA or last 60 semester credits. NOTE: To be considered official, transcripts must be submitted to UVU directly from a college or university.
  6. Provide evidence of potential for success which may be provided with a GMAT or GRE test score.
      • Goal is to obtain a 500 or above on the GMAT (perfect score is 800); GRE scores are converted to determine a GMAT equivalent.
      • Test preparation resources and registration information is available by selecting GMAT/GRE PREP.

NOTE: Consideration to waive the graduate test requirement may be given to students who have a cumulative GPA of 3.6 or higher and interview with the MBA program director.

IN EXCEPTIONAL CIRCUMSTANCES, a professional portfolio may substitute for the test requirement for applicants who have a minimum of 8 to 10 years of full-time professional experience, and who have demonstrated progressive responsibility in their careers. Contact the MBA Office for details at 801-863-5099.
