THE UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY FOUNDATION
EXCEPTIONAL MERIT GRANTS PROGRAM
FOR FACULTY AND STAFF

For the past twelve years the UVU Foundation Board of Directors have offered a merit grant program for faculty and staff as a way to exhibit their gratitude to the campus community.  This year the Foundation has allocated $27,000 in private funds to underwrite faculty/staff projects.  The grants are intended to advance the mission of the university and enhance the creative, nurturing and learning environment that enriches our students.  Proposals will be evaluated by the Ambassador Committee of the Foundation and those selected will be awarded up to $5,000.  

TIMETABLE:

Friday, February 12, 2010
: Faculty must submit proposals to their Dean or staff to their Vice President
Tuesday, March 2, 2010 - 5 p.m.: Dean or Vice President must submit proposals (10 copies) to the
Office of Institutional Advancement –AL 006
(Proposals submitted after the deadline will not be considered)
Monday, April 14, 2010: The 2009 Grant Awards Announced

GUIDELINES:
  1. PURPOSE OF PROPOSAL
    1. Projects should be student centered; indicate how it will affect, involve and influence current and future students at UVU
    2. Funding should be considered seed money and supplemental funding should be explained
    3. The committee will not fund a specific project more than once, a stipend for research, tuition costs or travel
  2. COMPLETE OFFICIAL PROPOSAL TEMPLATE

    2. Complete form by using standard format (single spaced, 12 pt size, Times New Roman Font)
    3. Please be aware of space limitations when completing form
  3. SUBMIT TO DEAN/VICE PRESIDENT BY DEADLINE FOR APPROVAL (2/12/2010)
    1. Deans or Vice Presidents will be evaluating and prioritizing proposals before submitting to the committee
  4. DEAN or VICE PRESIDENT WILL SUBMIT 10 COPIES BY MARCH 3, 2010 TO:
