Pacific Islander Program:Staff members have traveled since 2007 to American Samoa and Hawaii and Tahiti. In Samoa, UVU has been the only mainland four-year institution represented among colleges and universities located primarily in Hawaii, Samoa, Australia, and New Zealand. UVU’s Hawaiian and Polynesian student population has participated in a Polynesian Cultural Center/ BYU Hawaii Summer Internship grant program involving cultural work while studying ancient Hawaiian studies. The number of Pacific Island enrolled students has increased from 189 in 2005 to 422 in 2010. |
