(Academic Strategies to meet the Challenging Needs of Diverse Students)All incoming freshman minority students are invited to attend a FREE two-day minority-designed induction “blastoff” program to reduce freshman “first time jitters,” every Fall semester. Experiential team exercises, cultural, academic, diversity-coping, motivational, career planning, and UVU resource workshops are offered in a fear-free, informal environment. Multicultural scholarship recipients, incoming minority freshmen are invited along with any continuing multicultural students. |
