Absurdly Familiar invites viewers to embark upon a playful journey through nearly four decades of work by acclaimed artist, illustrator, and designer Kent Christensen. Christensen’s candy-hued and pop culture infused paintings of decadent desserts, fast-food feasts, and product populated skylines are both whimsical and amusingly satirical. The artist’s west coast pop aesthetic will be on display at the UVU Museum of Art at Lakemount from December 5 to March 2.

The 2023 Faculty Art Exhibition exemplifies the power of the visual arts to communicate, educate, and inspire. The Art of Belonging explores themes of belonging in community and culture through programs including exhibitions, artist lectures, educator workshops, collaborations with faculty, performance art, family art making, and more. The Art of Belonging is a collaboration between The Museum of Art and artist, curator, and art educator Jorge Rojas, and Artes de México en Utah, led by cultural advocate Fanny Guadalupe Blauer.
