International Music Students

Welcome to Orem, Utah!  We are excited that you are interested in studying at UVU.

The application process for international students has two parts.  This information is specifically for the music department.

1.  Apply to the music department

You need to make a DVD of yourself playing 3 pieces from different styles, and mail it to:

 DR. HILARY DEMSKE
UVU MUSIC DEPT, Mail Stop #165
 800 W University Pkwy
 Orem, UT 84058-599

2.  Apply to the University

Applying to the University involves more paperwork.  Click here to download a packet of forms.  You need to do the following:
1. Complete the Application on page 9
2. Complete the Affidavit of Support on page 8
3. Send a transcript from your high school
4. Send the $100 application fee
5. Submit your TOEFL score (needs to be 61 or higher)

You should mail these items to:
 UTAH VALLEY UNIVERSITY
 INTERNATIONAL ADMISSIONS, Mail Stop #106
 800 W University Pkwy
 Orem, UT 84058-5999

After you do this, UVU will give you an I-20 form which will prove to the US Embassy that you have been accepted to study in
America.  In March, the music department will inform you about the scholarship results.  Then you can apply for the Visa successfully.

What if my TOEFL score is not high enough? Should I still apply?

Yes!  You can still win the music scholarship if your TOEFL is too low!  You will just enroll as an ESL (English as a Second Language) student until you can get a higher score.  You will learn English very fast when living in America!

If you have any questions, please email me, Dr. Demske at Hilary.Demske@uvu.edu

Thank you!  I hope to see you at UVU!
