UVU Concert Choir

The Utah Valley University Concert Choir is one of several choral performance ensembles on campus. Conducted by Connie Jensen, concert choir is a
non-auditioned choir, which welcomes all students who desire to participate in choral music. Class meeting times are currently Tuesdays and Thursdays

from 11:00-11:50 in the fall and 1:00-1:50 in the spring. A wide variety of

Chamber Choir

music is performed, including madrigals, folk songs, jazz, spirituals and

music of contemporary composers.

The choir performs with the other ensembles in the Ragan Theatre in a
concert
at the end of each semester. Other performances include joint
concerts with area high schools and occasional performances in
conjunction with the Theatre department. Size and musical strength of
the choir will dictate whether additional performances occur.

Excellent attendance at rehearsals is crucial for this choir; students who
regularly attend the class can expect to learn vocal techniques and
exercises
to strengthen and extend the range of their voices, how to
perform various styles of music, how to sing parts independently and how
to sing with more confidence. Each student in the choir is encouraged to
develop his/her vocal abilities within the group and also through solo
opportunities offered.

All voices are needed, and, regardless of singing experience, concert choir can accommodate the student desiring to participate in an ensemble. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to join this growing ensemble.
