UVU Masterworks Chorale

Masterworks Chorale

The MasterWorks Chorale, formerly the A Cappella Choir,
is UVU’s largest auditioned choir, with around 80 singers.
This choir has a long tradition of excellence at UVU, and
is often called upon for special projects. In Spring of 2006,
they sang in an original stage production "Echos of
American Slavery." In the Fall of 2006, they premiered an
original work, "Fresh Courage Take," in Bountiful, Salt Lake
and Provo.

The first Saturday in December each year, they perform
Handel’s Messiah with orchestra, under the sponsorship of
the Provo Art’s Council. In the Spring of 2007, the Chorale,
along with the UVU Orchestra performed Bernstein’s
Chichester Psalms. In the Summer of 2003, the A Cappella Choir, under the direction on Larry Johnson, toured Europe. Last May, several members of the Chorale performed the Durufle Requiem in Carnegie Hall, and returned to Carnegie Hall in May of 2008.
