Unsubscribing from Emergency Text Messages

If you are getting text messages from UVU from the Opt-In system (emergency from Police, Presidential from President, or Student from Student Government) and want to unsubscribe, then this page is for you!
Why am I getting text messages?Because you or someone else entered your number into the OPT-IN system under a UVU ID number and Opted in to receive these messages.Information about Opt-InOpt-In is used sparingly for the benefit of those that OPT-IN. You should only get a text if you have signed up for the service!
Delivery of the text messages is based on your text messaging provider. Some providers will periodically drop, delay or block these messages. We currently are aware of Verizon delaying messages by hours. We cannot control that delay. It is done by Verizon and we have contacted them and they are currently not willing to correct this problem. Please contact them if this is a problem for you. We suggest turning off your phone at night so as not to disturb your sleep when these delays happen. We have had reports of multiple messages being received.
