Many courses at UVU use Canvas, an online learning management system for online course materials to enhance the flexibility of instruction for the regular classroom as well as for the fully online courses. Access to courses is available to you as a registered student beginning the first day of each semester and closes after finals are complete as outlined in the Student Timetables. You can log in to Canvas through myUVU by clicking on the Canvas icon in the upper right corner, or by using this link.

Having technical issues with your course on Canvas? There are several resources of helpful information and support provided for you.

Hybrid/Online Courses

Hybrid courses replaces at least some class time with online work, allowing you to benefit from the best of both face-to-face interaction and the flexibility of online instruction. For example, instead of attending class on Tuesday and Thursday you would attend class on Tuesdays and complete online work instead of attending class on Thursdays.

Online courses offer you convenient access to course materials and a variety of instructional media, as well as interactions with instructors and classmates using the latest technologies.

Canvas Support for the online components of Hybrid and Online courses is provided by Course Specialists of the Office of Teaching & Learning. A “Get Help” tab is provided in the Menu items for easy access to contact information and office hours of the assigned Course Specialist. They are happy to help you with any technical or navigation questions that arise throughout the semester.

Here is a list of services offered to you as part of student support:

  • General Canvas navigation
  • Change/extend dates
  • Lock/Unlock assessments for individual students or full class
  • Troubleshoot technical issues
  • Instruct and assist students with exam proctoring procedures
  • Facilitate student and instructor interaction
