President's Welcome
On behalf of the faculty and administration at Utah Valley University, I extend a warm welcome to you and your student. This is an extraordinary place. The beauty of our campus is only exceeded, I believe, by our genuine care for and commitment to students. We will do everything in our power to make the environment here safe, supportive and conducive to great learning and well-rounded development.
As you likely have discovered, we pride ourselves on recently being designated a "community engaged" university by the Carnegie Foundation. Among other things, this means that we place a great emphasis on "learning by doing." As a result, there are many opportunities for students here to get involved in activities in and out of the classroom that will not only deepen their understanding of the subject matter they are studying but will also give them some vital real-world experience. We are finding this makes our graduates some of the most sought after in today’s competitive workforce. Please join us in encouraging your son or daughter to make the most of his or her UVU experience by taking advantage of these great opportunities and committing to diligent study.
