Students who withdraw from school before the first day of school receive full refunds (tuition, lab fees and regular fees) and are not charged a withdrawal fee. After school begins, a $10 processing fee is deducted from the total refund.
- Limitations
- Refunds are not granted for admissions application fees, late registration fees, student insurance fees (after the first day of class), graduation fees, etc. Refund requests on Continuing Education non-credit classes will be honored only until the end of the first week of classes each semester.
- Students who drop or add a class or classes after the refund period must pay for the class(es) dropped plus any additional class(es) added.
- Tuition paid for dropped classes will not transfer to pay for added classes unless the transaction is done within the refund period. Students must officially withdraw or pay full tuition (See Policy E-3.1, Registration and Policy E-3.3, Payment of Tuition and Fees.
- Exceptions
Students who have not been able to adhere to the refund policy because of circumstances beyond their control, such as medical emergencies or institutional error, may petition for exceptions through the Office of the Registrar. The Registrar adjudicates all petitions for exceptions to the policy. Students who receive exceptions are charged the $10 processing fee and are generally refunded tuition only.
