UVU Christine M. Durham Prelaw Club
The UVU Christine M. Durham Prelaw Club was founded in 2007. The then-Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court (2002-2012), Justice Christine Durham honored UVU prelaw students by allowing us to name our club after her in honor of her many years of public service to the citizens of the State of Utah as a Justice on the Court (1982-Present). In 2012, as Justice Durham stepped down from the role of Chief Justice, the UVU Christine M. Durham Prelaw Club honored her with the Inaugural Christine M. Durham Public Service Award, with the intent that it become an annual award given to a worthy attorney who has contributed in an exceptional way to the citizens of the State of Utah. This award honors Justice Durham's service over many years as well as honors those whose commitment to public service has made a serious impact of the lives of those served.
The club meets monthly and hosts a variety of activities, all designed to expand a student's exposure to the realities of the legal profession and to introduce students to law school admissions professionals from around the country and legal professionals in a variety of practice and non-practice settings. Notices of activities and events are posted on our Facebook page as well as sent out to students who are in the Prelaw Office email database.
