1. Individual meetings with the Prelaw Advisor

    • Discuss personal needs
    • Connect with local and national attorneys
    • Learn about career opportunities, in the traditional law setting and outside of it
    • Learn about campus services that support students

2. Set up a timeline for progression to law school

3. Email Database: An email contact list of prelaw students has been created to ease ability to publicize events and advising.  To have your name added to the email list, email Eileen Crane @ eileen.crane@uvu.edu, with EMAIL DATABASE in the subject line, and you will be added to the list

4. Walk-Ins on various days throughout the month

5. Workshops available when a group of five or more students request one. Call 801.863.6484 and Natalie will add your name to the list

    • How to Prepare for the LSAT
    • How to Create a GREAT Application
    • How to Pay for Law School


6. Membership in the Utah Valley University Christine M. Durham Prelaw Club

    • $10 dues, to be paid at the UVU Clubs Office, LC 101 
    • Monthly Lecture Series, held monthly on different days of the month, 7-8:30 PM, pizza & drinks
    • Other events, such as visiting the Utah Supreme Court chambers of Chief Justice Christine M. Durham, and participation in the MLK Commemoration, and other events
    • You can also join the UVU Christine M. Durham Club on Facebook by going to the page named after the club and requesting to join the group.

    • 100 x JD: Connected Lawyers Are Happy Lawyers-a networking event for students to meet practicing lawyers in a variety of fields

    • Diversity in Law Night
    • Visits by law school admissions officers

ACC-ELLA Law School Visit Reports

The UVU Academic Counseling Center (ACC) and College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CHSS) have funded student visits to law schools by UVU Christine M. Durham Board Members for the past two years.  Students interview admissions officers, meet current students, and take pictures at the law school to benefit UVU prelaw students.
