What are the University Bid Limits?
- Purchases under $3000: These purchases are generally handled by the departments using several different methods including the Visa Purchasing Card, Limited Purchase Checks (LPCs), and Standing Purchase Orders. All regular purchases are processed by Procurement Services and orders are placed at their discretion. Vendors filling orders not paid for with a purchasing card or LPC should have a valid purchase order signed by an authorized buyer before filling an order. The University may not be held responsible for payment for an order placed without a valid purchase order, purchasing card, or LPC.
- Purchases between $3,000 and $30,000: According to University Policy, it is a requirement that purchases totaling over $3,000 and under $30,000 are sent out to bid. These bids are sent to three or more known suppliers.
- Purchases over $30,000: Bids and RFPs that total over $30,000 are formal, sealed bids and are listed on our website under current bids, or you can come to our office and find a posting of our open Bids and RFPs.
How do I get on the University Bid List?
Invitations for Bids for procurement over $30,000 are posted on BidSync.com. Vendors may register with BidSync.com to receive bid notifications. Click here for instructions regarding registration and bid submission with BidSync.com.
How do I submit a bid?
We encourage all companies to submit bids to Utah Valley University. After you see an advertisement to which you would like to respond, visit the BidSync Online Bid System and register for the bid in which your company is interested.
Because our advertised Bids and RFPs are opened electronically after their closing date and time, they must be submitted and finalized before that time.
How do I find out the results of a bid if I can’t go to the bid opening?
After the Bid/RFP has been opened, suppliers should visit the BidSync web site to see the results. Or, you can contact the buyer who is responsible for that particular bid by calling (801) 863-8301 and giving the bid number and due date for that particular bid.
