Bid Information
What are the University Bid Limits?
- Purchases under $3000: These purchases are generally handled by the departments using several different methods including the Visa Purchasing Card, Limited Purchase Checks (LPCs), and Standing Purchase Orders. All regular purchases are processed by Procurement Services and orders are placed at their discretion. Vendors filling orders not paid for with a purchasing card or LPC should have a valid purchase order signed by an authorized buyer before filling an order. The University may not be held responsible for payment for an order placed without a valid purchase order, purchasing card, or LPC.
- Purchases between $3,000 and $30,000: According to University Policy, it is a requirement that purchases totaling over $3,000 and under $30,000 are sent out to bid. These bids are sent to three or more known suppliers.
- Purchases over $30,000: Bids and RFPs that total over $30,000 are formal, sealed bids and are listed on our website under current bids, or you can come to our office and find a posting of our open Bids and RFPs.
