Statement
Martin Woesler strives to help to build up the field of Chinese Studies at Utah Valley University, within the framework of the Presidential Chinese Initiative with its Chinese Inititiative Executive Committee chaired by Dr. Fred White. Chinese Studies answers the demand of local business for graduates with Chinese language proficiency and Chinese cultural literacy. It prepares students for a globalized world with its dedicated faculty, in established institutions and study programs, as well as with further curriculum development. Being the 4th largest open-enrollment university in the United States and the largest university in Utah, UVU is a unique learning institution. In the field of Chinese Studies, it prepares its students for US-Chinese cross-cultural interaction.
