Interests: My primary interests are in fluvial geomorphology and river hydrology, with an emphasis on water resources management and human-environment interactions in river systems. I investigate human-environment interactions and new remote sensing and GIS methods of studying the riverscape, particularly for use in environmental management.

Current and Upcoming Projects:

• Assessing the distribution and geomorphic impacts of small dams in Oregon
• Mapping Land use/Land cover and channel change in the riparian zone of the Jordan river, Utah
• Quantifying the sediment distribution and mobility on the lower Provo river, Utah
• Evaluating geomorphic changes on Pleasant Creek, Capitol Reef National Park, Utah
• Using GIS to map the potential for water-based service learning projects in Irapuato, Mexico

I teach a variety of Geography and Geology courses, including GIS, Intro to Geology, Hydrology, and Geomorphology. I have also been involved in research, service learning, and study abroad in southern Africa through the University of Virginia.
