Jans B. Wager is a professor of English and Literature at Utah Valley University.  She is the Chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies committee and coordinates Cinema Studies.  She is the author of Dames in the Driver’s Seat: Rereading Film Noir (Texas UP, 2005) and Dangerous Dames: Women and Representation in the Weimar Street Film and Film Noir (Ohio UP, 1999).  She is working on her next book project, tentatively titled Jazz and Cocktails: Race, Censorship, and Film Noir.  Dr. Wager teaches cinema, critical theory and writing courses, and has been at UVU since 1997.
