Assistant Professor 

Professor Welborn is a member of the Computer Science Department at Utah Valley University (UVU) and the Director of the Master of Computer Science (MCS) degree.  Dr. Welborn came to UVU after working in the Aerospace and Telecommunication Industries for over 17 years.  He enjoys oil painting and outdoor sports such as skiing, biking and rock climbing. 

Teaching and Research Interests

Professor Welborn teaches classes in Advanced Computer Architecture, Compilers, DBMS Construction, and Database Theory.  While Professor Welborn's primary interests are in the areas of compilers and DBMS with a special interest in domain specific languages for robotics, he enjoys working with other professors in unrelated areas of Computer Science.  He is always looking for students interested in doing some research.  Your project does not have to be related to areas he is working on; just be motivated to produce a result.
