Dr. Yuan is an Assistant Professor of Chinese at Utah Valley University. Dr. Yuan is an enthusiastic Chinese educator, and has over 20 years of experience teaching Chinese language, culture and literature to a diverse group of non-native Chinese students. He received his BA and MA in English Language and Literature in 1991 and 1998 respectively, and his Ph.D. in 2007. Dr. Yuan's fields of study include pedagogy of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, modern Chinese  literature, and Chinese culture and civilization.
