Students who have extenuating circumstances or a medical emergency that prohibits attendance at school, may petition for exceptions to the refund policy, through the Office of the Registrar, room BA 112. The class(es) must be withdrawn before an exception form is submitted.
Guidelines for exceptions are:
- Students who were last enrolled on or before the refund dates will receive a tuition refund.
- Medical Documentation on letterhead of physician or hospital.
- Institutional error as documented by department.
- Petitions will not be honored beyond 12 months after the conclusion of the term for which a refund is sought.
The Registrar will evaluate the circumstances of each individual case to determine if a refund is warranted. After determination, the original form is added to the student's permanent record and, if approved, a copy is sent to the Bursar. Students may request that exceptions denied by the Registrar be reviewed by the Refund Committee.
Petitions for exception to academic policy must be approved by the Registrar through a petition form obtained at BA 113. Students may request that exceptions denied by the Registrar be reviewed by the Academic Standards Committee.
