2013 Social Innovation Fellowship Application

The Social Innovation Incubator

The Social Innovation Incubator provides critical support to social entrepreneurs (both for-profit and nonprofit) whose concepts possess the potential for significant social impact and student engagement. We are looking for change-makers who are just starting their organizations, or looking to make a significant shift in an existing organization.

How it works

Innovators apply between March 6th and April 30th for a place in the Social Innovation Workshop. This intensive workshop runs for three weeks in August (exact dates/times to be determined based on participants' schedules). During the workshop, participants gain in-depth training from relevant experts in:

  • Business Model Development
  • Grant Writing
  • Mission Marketization
  • Performance Management
  • Board Development
  • Fundraising
  • Strategic Management
  • Social Innovation

At the end of the course, students will pitch their business plan to a panel of experienced funders and entrepreneurs. Up to two participants will be awarded a seed grant of $5,000, and access to a variety of institutional resources from across the Utah Valley University campus, including office space at the UVU Business Resource Center.
