Vice President’s Welcome to
Student Affairs at UVU

Congratulations on making the decision to come to
Utah Valley University!

Many people ask me what Student Affairs is all about. There are many responses to that question; however the students at UVU could answer that question by sharing their experiences….

For Ryan Raybould, campus life at Utah Valley University means supporting the Wolverines by joining the MAWL and going to every athletic event he can. For Paisley Hall, it’s the opportunity to take a quick break from her studies to experience something new in the Zone. To Ben Reichert, campus life means a sense of community and a warm welcome in the Multicultural Center. And for Danny Diaz, student life at UVU revolves around Student Government with its opportunities to meet other students, to be involved, and to actually make a difference.

UVU has “something for everyone.” You can get involved in intramural sports and outdoor activities, or join a club or organization ranging from the Bangladesh Student Association to the Finance Association. You may try out for the UVU Dance or Cheer teams . Some of our students volunteer to provide needed services at the university or within the surrounding communities. Or expand your horizons through attending thought-provoking lectures, dances and concerts, professional theatrical productions and many more campus events.

If you choose to live in housing supported by the UVU Residential Engagement Program, you’ll join a diverse group of students who participate in UVU sponsored activities both on and off campus. You’ll find One Stop a convenient place to visit for many services ranging from submitting admissions applications, obtaining transcripts, purchasing parking stickers, obtaining financial aid & scholarship information, registering for classes, and paying tuition & fees.

Our Graduation Office will assist you when your course work has been completed, and when it’s time to launch your career, our Career Development Center will help prepare you for the job market.

These resources and so many more (Student Affairs Services) can assist you by making your UVU experience the best it can be. Congratulations on making such a wise decision to come to UVU, and we look forward to working with you. There are many wonderful, exciting, and educational opportunities just waiting for you.

Sincerely,

Cory L. Duckworth, J.D.
