Student Life and Activities Branch Responsibilities:
* Serves under Student life Vice President
* Recruit and Retain Committee Members
* Develop event promotions and publicity
* Develop creative ideas and application to create diverse aspects of activities and publicity
* Support all other Student Government activities and branches
Activities Chair- Plans and coordinates dances, other campus entertainment and other programs in consultation with the VP of Student Activities. e.g. Halloween dance, Welcome Back Dance, Country Dance, Large Concerts etc.
Fine Arts Chair- Plans and coordinates events specifically geared toward the fine arts in consultation with the VP of Student Activities. Work closely with the Fine Arts Senator and the HASS School to coordinate events with departments on campus. e.g. Film Festival, battle of the bands, UV Idol, theater productions etc.
Social Chair- Plans and coordinates campus activities involving the community and first year experience activities in consultation with the VP of Student Activities. e.g. Off-campus performers such as Recycled Percussion, Kid’s nights, Scavenger hunt etc.
Special Events Chair- Plans and coordinates campus specific events in consultation with the VP of Student Activities. e.g. Miss UVU, Mr. UVU, and Fear Factor etc.
Spirit Chair- Plans and coordinates activities that promote school spirit in consultation with the VP of Student Activities. Acts as President of the MAWL (Mighty Athletic Wolverine League) Coordinates with the Athletics Department, Cheer and Dance in event planning for NCAA athletic events. e.g. homecoming week, game promotion, tailgate parties.
