National Placement

The New Student Assessment (NSA) is required for all first-time students who do not have current ACT/SAT scores or who have not met the ACT/SAT requirement. The NSA is a reading, writing, and math placement test. It is part of the Personal Educational Planning services.

UVU Students ONLY: The NSA is given on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours, with the last test given out 2 hours prior to closing. The test is free for newly admitted students testing for the first time. Retakes cost $10 per section.

Non-UVU Students: The NSA is offered by APPOINTMENT only. Please contact our Proctor Exam Center at (801)863-8544 to set an appointment. Appointments must be set at least 24 hours in advance. The NSA costs $50.00 for non-UVU students.
