The Accuplacer is required for all first-time students who do not have current ACT/SAT scores or who have not met the ACT/SAT requirement. The Accuplacer exam consists of three sections; Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Math.

Clients can take either the entire Accuplacer exam in one sitting or in parts.

Retake Policy: Effective as of March 14th, 2011, you will be allowed to retake the Accuplacer once every two weeks.

UVU Students ONLY: The Accuplacer is given on a walk-in basis Monday-Friday during office hours, with the last test given out 2 hours prior to closing. The test is $10 for newly admitted students testing for the first time. Retakes cost $10 cash per section. Non-expired photo ID is required for testing.

Non-UVU Students: The Accuplacer is offered by APPOINTMENT only. Please contact our Proctor Exam Center at (801)863-8544 to set up an appointment. Appointments must be made at least 24 hours in advance. The Accuplacer costs $50.00 cash for non-UVU students.

Out of State Students: If you find a location that gives the Accuplacer you can take the exam and fax an official score report to us. Our fax number is (801) 863-7076. Make sure you take the Reading Comprehension, Sentence Skills, and Math portions.

For remote testing you will need to locate a college or a university in your area that is willing to do a computer based proctor. They must be able to monitor the computer based exam at all times. Also they cannot be someone you know personally or professionally. When you find a location contact our call center (801) 863-8482 with the testing locations name, contact person's name who will be administering the exam, their phone and fax number.

High Schools wanting to administer their own Accuplacer Exams would need to fill out the High School Proctor Security Agreement Form (pdf) and fax it to Colleen Sorensen, Director of Testing Services at (801) 863-7076.

As of May 3, 2012, the ACT Residual Test will be administered on Thursdays at 8:30. The cost is $50.00 (cash only). All candidates must come into our office at least 24 hours in advance to register. Please bring valid government issued photo identification and your payment in cash at the time of registration. Scores to this test are only valid here at UVU. A sixty day waiting period is required before retaking the ACT Residual. For more information, please call (801) 863-8269.
