Degrees and Classes Offered

Graduates in Theatre and Film find careers in areas such as acting, directing, writing, producing, designing, management, and teaching. Study in these areas provides cultural enrichment and helps students (majors and non-majors alike) to cultivate the communication and "people" skills necessary to be successful in business, law, and many professional pursuits. Work experiences also create traits of teamwork, responsibility, and accountability because of the "deadline" nature of production.

The UVU Theatre Program is a designed hands-on approach to the multiple arts of live theatre. Students have the opportunity to audition for and support six public productions (five mainstage and one touring children's show) per school year. Technical support (sound, lighting, costumes, public relations, stagecraft, and management) of productions is strongly emphasized as a teaching platform giving students diverse opportunities for growth. These wide applications are critically imperative to any future of theatre and film for educational, vocational and recreational functions.
