Meet Lilly – “Queen of the World” and Lover of Everything! Lilly loves cheese snacks, her new red boots, her best friends Wilson and Chester, her new teacher Mr. Slinger, and ESPECIALLY her brand new purse that plays music whenever it’s opened. In fact, she loves her new purse so much that it gets her into trouble – and she learns that making mistakes is all a part of growing up.

Laicey M. Gibby-Brown (Granny, Chrysanthemum, Bully 3). A Theatre major from Riverdale, Utah, this is Laicey’s first role at UVU. Off campus credits include The Wizard of Oz, High School Musical, Aida, Hello Dolly, and Footloose. She would like to offer special thanks to her family for all their support, especially her mom who is constantly there for her.
Timothy Peay (Father/ Store Clerk). A Theatre Performance major from Morgan, Utah, this is Timothy’s first role at UVU. Off campus credits include Dracula the Musical, The Outsiders, Grease, The Jungle Book, and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. “ Special thanks to my mom, Jana Peay, for all her support.“
Kailey Azure Green (Julius/Penny/Pregnant Mouse). A Theatre Performance major from Provo, Utah, Kailey was recently a featured performer with Holiday Night Live. Off campus credits include The Winter’s Tale, Character Performer at Walt Disney World, and All Shook Up. “Thank you to all my friends and family for their support and loving encouragement I wouldn’t be the person I am today without your wonderful influences. Jessie Lyn Pusey (Mother/Bully 1). A Theatre Performance major from Pleasant Grove, Utah, She has been seen at UVU as Maritza in Trouble with Tricks, Fluff/Froglet/Snowy in Honk! Duende in Pedro’s Magic Shoes, was the props master for The Imaginary Invalid, and worked as deck crew for How To Succeed in Business Without Actually Trying. Off campus credits include Children of Eden, The Phantom of the Opera, South Pacific, Les Miserables, and Much Ado About Nothing. “Special thanks to my friends and family who have always supported me through all of my shows. I couldn’t do it without them!”
Ryan Hopkins (Wilson/FBI agent 2). A Theatre Education major from Herriman, Utah, Ryan has also been seen at UVU as Jojo in The Trouble with Tricks, James in the Short Attention Span Theatre, and was the stage manager for Dialogues. Off campus credits include Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Smile, and Les Miserables. “Special thanks to our director, Dr. Newman, for this opportunity. Riley Branning (Garland). A Theatre major from Houston, Texas, Riley has been seen at UVU as Abi/Pem in The Story Stone, Princess Serena in The Trouble with Tricks, and has been featured in Holiday Night Live, Letters to Myself, and She Loves Me, the musical (reading.)Off campus credits include Hairspray!, Little Women, the musical, Alice in Wonderland, Annie, and Annie Get Your Gun. “Special thanks to my family! Briana Lindsay (Lilly). A Theatre major from Logan, Utah, Briana has been seen at UVU as Nastasia in Jack Frost, Anne Frank in Dialogues, Louison in The Imaginary Invalid, and Pantalone in Androcles and the Lion. Off campus credits include the Orem Library Staged Reading Monkey's Paw, Beauty and the Prince, and Julius Caesar. She was a recent Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship semifinalist at the 2014 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival in Los Angeles. “Much love to my family and friends for always supporting me in my shows. Thanks to my professors for continuing to push me to better my work.”
Dallin Major (Mr. Slinger). A Theatre major from Pleasant Grove, Utah, this is Dallin’s first role at UVU. Off campus credits include Bonnie & Clyde, 110 in the Shade, Into the Woods, Much Ado about Nothing, and Urinetown. “Special thanks to family and friends, and all who have supported me over the years.”
Alex Rettie (Chester/FBI Agent 1). A Theatre major from Riverton, Utah, this is Alex’s first role at UVU. Off campus credits include The Winter’s Tale, Scapino!, Grease, and Hairspray. “Thanks to Mom and Dad for helping me go for my dream.”
Tayler Tripp (stage manager). A Theatre Design major from South Jordan, Utah, Tayler has been the production stage manager for Jack Frost, assistant stage manager for Honk!, and the properties designer for Next to Normal. Off campus credits include design work for 45 seconds from Broadway, Les Miserables, Lend Me a Tenor, Brigadoon, and Fiddler on the Roof. “A big thank you to my family for always telling me to dream big, my roommates for their constant friendship and their patience with my insane puppy, and of course Stephen, for dealing with absolutely everything I throw at him and still loving me unconditionally.”
John Dilworth Newman (Director) is a theatre professor at Utah Valley University and director of the Noorda Regional Theatre Center for Children and Youth. He taught and directed at Highland High School for eighteen years and was artistic director of the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts. He earned his M.A. from the University of Texas and his Ph.D. from New York University. He is co-author of Tell Your Story: The Plays and Playwriting of Sandra Fenichel Asher. Dr. Newman chairs the Playwrights In Our Schools project and served on the board of the American Alliance for Theatre and Education.
