Thank you for your interest in the Emergency Services program at Utah Valley University. We hope that you will consider our program. As an Emergency Services student, you have the following options: One-year Certificate a) Firefighter Recruit Candidate b) Paramedic Associate in Applied Science Degree a) Fire Officer Specialization b) Firefighter/Paramedic Specialization c) Wildland Fire Management, Associate in Science in Fire Science, Bachelor of Science Degree in Emergency Services Administration
1. Apply to Utah Valley University
A. Apply for UVU admissions at http://www.uvu.edu/admissions/ and pay the $35.00 admissions fee.
B. If you have attended another college or university, you will need to have each institution send an official transcript to:

2. Acquire a UVID numberOnce you’ve been admitted to UVU, you will be given an UVID number. To activate your UVLink account:
A. Click UVLINK
B. For the username enter your UVID number.
C. For the password enter your birthday in 6 digits (MMDDYY).
This password works only on your first entry. After logging in you must create a new password and security question.
D. UVU will create an email account which will be as follows:
YOURUVID@uvlink.uvu.edu You must use this e-mail address for all UVU correspondence.
E. Complete Web Start in UVLink
3. Receive Advisor Clearance
A. You must meet with an Advisor prior to registering for classes in order to remove the ADVISOR CLEARANCE HOLD.
B. In order to receive an Advisor Clearance, students must have:
- Transfer credit in Math and English
- ACT or SAT scores (if under the age of 21)
- or Compass Scores
C. Call 801-863-7700 to set up an appointment with an Advisor.
4. Registration
After you’ve logged in to UVLINK you can register for classes through the "Registration Menu" found on the Student tab.

A. Your full name
B. Your UVID number
C. The classes you want to register for, and the date the course starts.
Make sure you check your UVLINK for information on class registration.
