The Utah Fire and Rescue Academy would like to recognize departments that support, promote, and encourage their emergency response personnel to certify within the Utah Fire Service Certification System.

Department recognition is given on a bronze, silver, or gold level based on the percentage of department personnel certified in any of the following levels:

1. Hazardous Materials Awareness
2. Hazardous Materials Operations
3. Firefighter I
4. Firefighter II
5. Wildland Firefighter I
6. Apparatus Driver Operator - Pumper
7. Fire Officer I

When possible, the Certification Office Program Manager and Certification Council members would like to present this recognition to the applicant department in person.
We believe that this recognition is worthy of being presented at city council meetings or other appropriate settings.

Upon completion and processing of the application, the department will receive the following:
- Certificate recognizing the level of participation.
- Signage for display on the agency apparatus.
- Article in the UFRA Straight Tip magazine describing the recognition.
