CONTINUING UVU STUDENTS

Veterans who attended UVU during either of the last 2 semesters AND received GI Bill benefits.


STEP 1: SUBMIT REQUIRED FORMS TO UVU VETERANS OFFICE

* This must be done before your UVU classes can be certified with the VA to receive benefits.

Submit appropriate UVU Veterans Forms to the UVU Veterans Office. UVU Forms may be submitted via e-mail from UVU's Required Veterans Forms web page.
* Read all forms carefully.

  • Class Schedule Form (required every semester)
  • Additional forms may be required (as indicated on the UVU Required Forms page)

After the UVU Veterans Office receives ALLrequired forms, they will submit your UVU classes to be certified with the VA.


STEP 2: VERIFY ENROLLMENT (CHAPTERS 30, 1606 & 1607)

CHAPTERS 30, 1606 & 1607 MUST verify enrollment with the VA on the last day of each month.

VA benefits/payments are not released until enrollment verification is complete.

STEP 3: IF CHANGING YOUR PROGRAM (DEGREE - MAJOR - CONCENTRATION)

Complete the appropriate VA Form online through VONAPP (Veterans On Line Application) then submit a copy to the UVU Veterans Office.

RETURNING STUDENTS - NOT ATTEND UVU WITHIN THE LAST YEAR

Veterans who previously received GI Bill benefits at UVU but have not attended UVU during the last 3 semesters.

STEP 1: RE-APPLY TO UVU

Complete the online UVU Admissions Application for returning students. After 48 hours, you will need to access your UVU student e-mail account in UVLink. ALL OFFICIAL UVU COMMUNICATION will be sent to this account (including your acceptance letter). Be sure to check it often for news, notices, etc.

Additional steps might need to be completed in order to register for classes at UVU. Contact your Academic Advisor for more information.


STEP 2: VIEW ABOVE INFORMATION UNDER CONTINUING STUDENTS

Submit the UVU Policy & Procedures Form along with your UVU Class Schedule Form to the UVU Veterans Office.

RETURNING STUDENTS - ATTENDED ANOTHER COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY

Veterans who previously received GI Bill benefits at UVU changed to another college/university (received GI Bill Benefits) AND now returning to UVU.


STEP 1: CHANGE YOUR PLACE OF TRAINING WITH THE VA

Complete the appropriate VA Form online through VONAPP (Veterans On Line Application) then submit a copy to the UVU Veterans Office.

STEP 2: SUBMIT OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS TO UVU ADMISSIONS OFFICE

If courses were taken at another college/university or through the military (including JST, DLI, CCAF, DSST, CLEP, AP, etc), send Official Transcripts to the UVU Admissions Office.

* Transcripts must be submitted and evaluated prior to completing 2 UVU Semesters...EVEN if you do not intend to use those classes at UVU. Your benefits may be discontinued until this information is received and evaluated by UVU.

STEP 3: VIEW ABOVE INFORMATION UNDER CONTINUING STUDENTS

Submit a copy of the VA Change of Place Form and UVU Policy & Procedures Form along with your UVU Class Schedule Form to the UVU Veterans Office.
