Web Standards
The UVU Web Standards can be grouped into two sections:
- The Marketing Web Standards - You can find the Marketing Web Standards in the Web Resource Services site.
- The Technical Web Standards - found on this site
WDS is responsible to work with the different groups on
campus to establish and maintain the Technical Web Standards for the UVU web
systems. To do this, we do the
following:
- Coordinate with the Office of Information Technology (OIT) on what parameters we need to work within to stay within the standards set forth for the UVU Campus
- Work with the Technical Sub-committee of UV-WAC in identifying technical standard recommendations for web systems
- Present the recommendations to UV-WAC for approval
- Implement the approved standards and maintain them as needed
This might seem like a complicated process, but with groups on campus working together, we can achieve better standards and organization.
The technical standards for the UVU web systems have been categorized as follows:
- Server Standards
- CMS Standards
- Development and Programming Standards
- Search Standards
THESE STANDARDS WILL BE UPDATED REGULARLY based on decisions in the Technical sub-committee and the UV-WAC committee. Please check back regularly for the latest updates
To see current notes developments, and changes being discussed on any of the technical standards, feel free to check out our Technical Sub-Committee Project Blog [link]. Developments and changes in the Marketing Standards are available in the WRS Marketing Sub-Committee Project Blog [link].
